A project of renovation and the evolution of a canopy. At the owner’s request, I recovered an old abandoned and disassembled canopy. I was asked to use it as a basis for the project. Then as it normally follows, a long stripping work came, a process of forging to restore the object in the limits of the constraints and make it into a more solid canopy than it was before. Following its installation I decided to create a cover for it, a cap, representing the family, the owners of the place. In five corners I forged five characters bearing the image of the five members of the sponsor’s family. An evolution, an increasing/decreasing form followed between all the masks. For this canopy I wished to leave the batch of artisanal work in this given place, driven by the desire to create a piece using “on site“ design.
